At Southbridge Rugby Football Club, we believe junior rugby is about much more than the game. Guided by Te Ara Ranga Tira – The Rugby Way, we are committed to creating a welcoming, inclusive environment where every child is known by name, every whānau feels connected, and every player has the opportunity to thrive.

Te Pou Maioha | Be Welcoming

Our club is built on community. During our 150th season, we experienced over 40% growth in junior registrations—a reflection of the welcoming and family-focused environment we strive to create. We were also proud to introduce our free Mini Superstars programme for 3–4-year-olds, giving our youngest community members and their whānau a fun and positive introduction to rugby before they reach junior grades.

We are committed to helping every player reach their own potential. Whether a child is playing rugby for the first time or striving for representative honours, we focus on developing skills, confidence, resilience, and a love of learning. Success is measured not only by results, but by effort, growth, and enjoyment.

We want every player to love coming to rugby. Through quality coaching, supportive volunteers, family events, and a positive club culture, we create an environment where lifelong friendships are formed, memories are made, and a passion for rugby can flourish.
