Code Of Conduct - The Good Administrator's Code
Whether playing, training or watching a game of rugby the way you behave reflects, YOU, YOUR TEAM and SOUTHBRIDGE RUGBY FOOTBALL CLUB to everyone watching.
The following Codes are designed to promote the elements of enjoyment and satisfaction, the contribution that can be made by non players and to remind all people involved with the game that there are certain standards of fair play and conduct that should be maintained at all times. It is acknowledged that youth rugby will not progress without good quality administrators. Their contribution is essential to the development of all youth sections and individuals within them.
Administrators of the SRFC are defined as all Committee inclusive of Executive and JAB Committee.
Administrators should:
1. Encourage an environment within the rugby club whereby the opportunity to play rugby is offered to ALL youngsters.
2. Encourage the concept of good sporting partnerships between young people, their parents, club coaches and officials.
3. Involve young people in the decision making processes, where appropriate.
4. Recognise that the rugby club has a "Duty of Care' towards all club members.
5. Ensure that the club provides responsible supervision for all young people.
6. Promote the concepts of fair play, respect and enjoyment.
7. Ensure that equipment and facilities are available for and appropriate to the requirements of the coaches and needs of the young players.
8. Ensure young players are registered under the NZRFU scheme.
9. Ensure that the club coaching/playing programme reflects the NZRFU guidelines and does not expose young players to the possibility of over playing or over training.
10. Ensure matches are officiated by suitable and preferably qualified referees.
11. Ensure that appropriate medical and first aid provision is always available.
12. Promote youth sections as being an integral part of the club.
13. Promote links with local community, particularly schools.
