Play at the Oldest Club in Ellesmere

We are currently Looking for Players to Fill Our Player Requirements for the 2025 & 2026 Seasons in
Division 1, Division 2  & Division 3.

Southbridge Rugby Club welcomes interest from all players wishing to play for our club or looking for a club to play for in the Canterbury region. If this is the case why not come and play for a club with the history ours has in the Ellesmere competition and the Home Club of Former All Black Daniel Carter, we welcome any inquiries for those of you who wish to look at playing in the great environment that Southbridge offers.

The Southbridge Division 1 Side has won the Coleman Shield more times than any other club in the competition. They have also won the Canterbury Country Wide Competition in 2012, 2013 & 2017.

We have a strong Div 2 side as well with a strong core group of players but we are always on the lookout for more players to add depth to our senior sides. Our Division 2 side won the competition in 2016 and has made the top 4 many times over the last few years.

The coaching and management staff we have at Southbridge for 2025 are exceptional and we can have position-specific coaches to come and help out regularly, so come and join a successful club and a club with the history that ours has to offer and most importantly a Family Club

We have a very strong Pasifika involvement in the club as well which has added a lot to our culture over the years and we celebrate this by having a Pasifika day every season.
