WINNER - 2026 Canterbury Club of the Year!

We are incredibly proud to share some very special news with our Southbridge Rugby community.

Southbridge Rugby Football Club has been named the 2026 Canterbury Club of the Year!

The award was announced at the Canterbury Rugby Awards, and to receive this recognition in our 150th year makes it even more special. What a way to cap off an unforgettable year for our club!

This award belongs to our whole Southbridge Rugby community.

From our players, coaches and managers to our JAB families, Mini Superstars, committee members and volunteers; from our sponsors and local businesses to our members, past players and loyal supporters, you all play a part in making Southbridge Rugby the club it is today.

Our 150th year has given us plenty to celebrate. We welcomed generations of Southbridge people back to the club for our Jubilee, continued to grow our junior and senior playing numbers, celebrated our Pasifika community, enjoyed success on the field, improved our facilities and, most importantly, continued to provide a place where people feel proud to belong.

For a small rural club like ours to be recognised as Canterbury Club of the Year is something we can all be extremely proud of. It is recognition not just of one successful season, but of the people, community spirit and countless volunteer hours that continue to keep Southbridge Rugby strong.

To everyone who has pulled on the Southbridge jersey, coached or managed a team, volunteered behind the scenes, sponsored the club, attended a game, supported a fundraiser, helped with our JAB, bought some merchandise or simply stood on the sideline cheering us on, thank you.

This award is yours too.

We are immensely proud of our club, proud of our community and very grateful to everyone who continues to support Southbridge Rugby.

150 years of Southbridge Rugby – and now Canterbury Club of the Year 2026.

What a special way to celebrate our club and everyone who is part of it.

Thank you for being part of the Southbridge Rugby family.
