Biography:Anderson was the product of the Southbridge RFC and with a farming background he typified the qualities of a Canterbury Country forward, by being an honest hard working lock, who was an invaluable workhorse in any of the sides he played in, including Canterbury and the All Blacks. Anderson played 143 games for Canterbury and was part of the great Canterbury Ranfurly Shield side of the early 1980s. During his brief All Black career Anderson played 25 games for the All Blacks, including 6 tests. Anderson was a member of the 1987 Rugby World Cup winning All Black side and captained of both the Canterbury and All Blacks team.
